It's not a great photo technically, but recently I got the chance to play with an Apple Newton MessagePad. This touchscreen PDA with handwriting recognition was really the prototype for the much later iPhone and iPod Touch, and although not successful was a line in the sand for portable technology. I'd never even seen one in real life until my friend let me play with this one!
